JDs intro: “What we’re building”

Why this role matters

We believe in a multi-model future. The world won't have one single, giant model that everyone sends everything to—instead, there will be hundreds of foundation models and billions of agentic systems running on top of them. We believe this is not only a better future for AI, but a safer one as well. But for this to happen requires massive infrastructure shifts that can enable us to better leverage the strengths of diverse models in a constantly evolving landscape. We started Not Diamond to enable this multi-model future.

As a Forward Deploy Engineer at Not Diamond, you’ll work closely with our founding team to help our customers in both the pre- and post-sales phases to leverage Not Diamond to improve their multi-model AI workflows by gathering requirements into project proposals, running PoCs and deployments, integrating with existing customer infrastructure, and working closely with our product and engineering teams to continuously improve the product to better meet customer requirements. We want to work with immensely thoughtful, voraciously curious, and mission-driven contributors. You will play a pivotal role in helping us drive company revenue by architecting and improving our solutions for our customers’ business needs. Ideally we’re looking to work with folks who have at least 10+ years of experience with forward deployed engineering or software engineering, have exposure to sales engineering responsibilities, and who have built companies from 0 to 1.

We offer a competitive salary, generous equity, and robust benefits, with the option to start on a contract-to-hire basis. And while we think of this as an opportunity to build a generational company from the ground-up, we also guarantee an investment in your next startup if you ever decide to build something yourself in the future. Our team is guided by top-percentile ambition, constant learning, and a bias towards action, and our focus on execution is rooted in a dedication to emotional intelligence, high integrity, and the ability to work through healthy conflict.
